| Press Conference for the exhibition "Millet and his Time: Masterpieces from the Musée d'Orsay" Exhibition opened. |
"Millet and his Time: Masterpieces from the Musée d'Orsay" Exhibition will be open at National Museum of History from May 31 to September 5, 2008. Millet’s best well-known "Gleaners and Angelus" will be exhibited for the first time in Taiwan.
Except for regular guided tour at the Exhibition, a special service for the hard of hearing and deaf—sign-language guided tour will be available. It is benchmarking to provide sign-language guide at fine arts exhibitions in Taiwan. The National Museum of History collaborating with Taipei 2009 Deaflympics Organising Committee (TDOC) makes the history.
Dr. Emile C.J. Sheng, the Managing Director of TDOC, arranges volunteers to support the sign language services at the Exhibition in weekends. These volunteers have been trained to provide sign language interpretation services at the Taipei Summer Deaflympics in 2009. In addition to the thoughtful services at the Exhibition, all hard of hearing and deaf friends are also invited to experience the Millet’s amazing world for free.
