Happy Chinese New Year to all the Sports Friends who always support Deaflympics! May all your wishes be fulfilled! There are less than two years left to 2009 Taipei Summer Deaflympics. It’s been 5 years since we won the bid of the host of 2009 Summer Deaflympics in 2003. The organising progress of the Event is just like a growing child who will become mature at a perfect moment in 2009. It will make a new page both on the history of Taiwan and Deaf Sports.
This year, we are organizing International Games for the Deaf which is a medium multi-sport invitation tournament encloses Football, Table Tennis, Karate, Taekwondo and Judo as the warm-up event one year before 2009 Summer Deaflympics. We invite elite Deaf Athletes from particular countries of the above sports coming to Taipei to compete in the Games following the scale of Deaflympics. It is expectable that the Games will help Taipei 2009 to be stronger and stronger.
It may be expectable for 2009 Summer Deaflympics in Taipei and please cheer on 3,600 Deaf Athletes from over 80 countries. We can feel your supports from everywhere in the world and we look forward that you will see the power of silence!
