7 o’clock in the morning, Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin opened up the 2007 ING Taipei International Marathon.  More than a hundred thousands of runners from the world started off from the City Hall Square.

ING Antai, the host of the ING Taipei International Marathon, invited everyone to be the “Charity Ambassador of ING Taipei Marathon.” TDOC being one of the charity fund receivers, the Sky Frog came to cheer the crowd, excited kids to take pictures, successfully draw people’s attention to the Deaflymipcs.

2009 Chinese Taipei Deaflymipcs team, led by Ching-lung AN, also a runner and the coach, participated in Taipei ING International Marathon this year. “We are short of Marathon runners this year, so we do not challenge in 42.195K, but target at 9K.” said An. The strategy succeeded. Chun-jie PENG ranked the 10th in Mens’ 25-29 group. The performance in women’s 25-29 group was even more impressive, Hsiang-ning FU won the bronze, Chia-mi KUO the 5th, and Pei-fang LIU the 8th.

The number of participants broke a hundred thousands again at the ING Taipei International Marathon this year. ING Antai donated a charity fund at the amount calculated according to the total distance ran, i.e. number of runners who completed the marathon x the distance. TDOC received 20% of the donation. The rest went to the Foundation for Rare Diseases (50%), and indigenous people road running teams of Josui and Lishan elementary schools in Hualien (30%).
