The awarding ceremony of “The 1st Web Development Awards for Non-Profit Organizations” took place today (Nov. 12, 2007) at the Civil Services Development Institute. The Web Development Awards for Non-Profit Organizations was established by The Research Development and Evaluation Commission (RDEC) of the Executive Yuan and conducted by the Public Network Foundation. The purpose is to encourage and promote high quality web development of non-profit organizations. The official website of 2009 Taipei Deaflympics won the “Special Prize” of the event. 494 non-profit organizations registered to compete for the awards. 49 of the 217 selected organizations received the awards. In addition to the awards, RDEC chose 65 associations out of 278 applications to receive subsidies under the Plan of Grants for Non-Profit Organizations Web Development.
