Chinese Taipei Deaf Bowling Team participated in the 2nd Asia Pacific Deaf Bowling Championships in Jeju, Korea on April 27, 2007. 12 members of the Chinese Taipei team won 8 gold medals, 6 silver medals and 3 bronze medals, and made the 1st place of all the participating countries!
It is a new record for Chinese Taipei that each member of the team won gold medals in the events of Single, Double, Trios, Team and Master. Mr. Yu-ping CHAO, the consultant to the team, is very thrilled with the performance. He commented that Chinese Taipei would have won more medals if Li-hsiao CHANG, the Gold Medalist of Melbourne Deaflympics 2005, also participated in this AP Championships. However, it is a good opportunity for young athletes to compete with teams from Asia Pacific Area, gaining experiences for 2009 Taipei Summer Deaflympics. |
