16th Winter Deaflympics will take place in Salt Lake City (SLC), Utah, U.S.A. on February 1-10, 2007. Taipei Summer Deaflympics Organising Committee (TDOC) is planning to send staff to SLC to observe the operation of the Games. In addition to the observance and acquiring experience, the purpose of the visit is also to present the preparation and progress of 2009 Summer Deaflympics to the 40th Congress of the ICSD.
The TDOC representative group led by Mr. Yu-ping CHAO and Dr. Kong-ting YEH, Director and CEO of TDOC is composed by division managers. Every manager will look closely into the Games in their responsible field to gain insights for 2009 Summer Deaflympics. The Group will promote 2009 Taipei Summer Deaflympics as well as Taiwan’s unique spirit: “Small but strong.” TDOC hopes to attract 94 countries (ICSD has 94 members) and 10,000 visitors to come to Taipei in 2009. |
